English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.

The three finalists have been celebrated for their outstanding achievements over the last year.

Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the very first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a unprecedented innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The three contenders were revealed during a live broadcast on a widely-listened-to radio show.

The 2025 recipient will be unveiled on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.

The ceremony will be aired from 7 PM GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She entered the fray to score crucial late equalisers in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

Her incredible contributions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.

"Being nominated for this award is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."

The Darts Prodigy

Littler kicked off the year in spectacular fashion as - aged 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

His success continued - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, smashing the previous record.

"Earning a spot on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and burst into the spotlight with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the batting rankings and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm deeply humbled to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it motivates more young women to get into cricket."
