Beloved Star Pat Finn, Recognized For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.

American entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in popular television series including Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in LA recently having undergone cancer treatment from 2022 onward, according to news outlets.

"Pat considered no one a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his family stated in a message.

They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".

An Extensive TV Career

His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.

He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a social organizer who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.

In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on several popular shows, like:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House

His most famous role for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.

His work in movies include "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".

Beyond the Screen

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.

He was a member of a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn coached, befriended and mentored countless students during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.

In a tribute, peer actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted publicly.

The actor is survived by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
